Join a growing community of engagement practitioners and strengthen your ability to contribute to meaningful change at OSU and beyond.
The Community Engagement Certificate Program at Oregon State University is a professional development opportunity designed for employees and graduate students. Participants are committed to building meaningful, reciprocal and mutually beneficial partnerships with communities through teaching, research, engagement and service.
As a participant you will:
- Explore the fundamental principles and practices of community engagement in our teaching, learning, research and extension and for our connected communities.
- Learn how community engagement is integral to addressing community needs, designing impactful initiatives and evaluating and assessing the effectiveness of community engagement at OSU. This is taught through a blend of theoretical frameworks and practical examples.
- Learn about the connection of community engagement to OSU's strategic plan, Prosperity Widely Shared, and our mission and vision as Oregon's land-grant university.
The certificate consists of a series of self-directed, asynchronous modules with opportunities to engage with existing theory and practice, and reflect on community engagement and why and how it happens at Oregon State University.
